Article Choice

I think that this article that I have chosen to use in my essay along with Restak and Anderson’s article, will blend very well with my ideas of neurological stress and technological influences. This article is a reputable source that I found through the University of New England’s library database on the website. The article I chose correlates with previous readings that we have read. The article I have chosen is called “Mediatization: Theorizing the Interplay Between Media, Culture and Society” from Andreas Hepp, Stig Hjarvard, and Knut Lundby. This article explains the terrible mediatization. Mediatization is essentially a theory that media shapes our world into what it is today. The thoughts and concepts of Mediatization relates closely to those of ideas mentioned by Richard Restak and Sam Anderson. Also, the concept of mediatization is remotely present in Thomas King’s Tedx Talk “Adults We Need To Have The Talk”. Throughout the article “Mediatization: Theorizing the Interplay Between Media, Culture and Society”, you can make several connections with Bill Wasik’s “My Crowd Experiment: The Mob Project” and Richard Restak’s “Attention Deficit: The Brain Syndrome of Our Era.” These two pieces of literature go hand and hand with the article I chose. They all contribute to the maine overarching idea that Mediatization runs the world. Not only do the pieces of literature I am using express the influence of media upon our society, but they can also be tied into another main idea. This main idea is that Mediatization blinds us as people from pursuing our purpose.
